The Original Heroes

The Fantastic Four is a group of talented superheroes who debuted in the Marvel comic book Fantastic Four #1 in 1961. Created by legendary comic-book writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, the team gained their superpowers during a scientific mission to outer space, where they were exposed to cosmic rays.

As the name would imply, the Fantastic Four is made up of four heroes: Leading the group is Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, a scientific genius who has the ability to stretch his body into incredible lengths and shapes. His wife, Susan Storm/Invisible Woman, has the power of invisibility and can generate force fields. Susan’s brother, Johnny Storm/the Human Torch, can generate flames. And the final member is Ben Grimm/the Thing, who is super strong and durable as a result of his rock-like body.

Throughout their history, the group has appeared in various film adaptations, including Fantastic Four (2005), Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer (2007), and Fantastic Four (2015). The films depict the origin of the team as well as their confrontations with Doctor Doom and Galactus.
