The Big Brother’s Always Watching

Big Brother (US) first aired in July 2000, created by producer John de Mol. The reality-television concept focuses on a group of contestants (known as housemates) living together in the Big Brother house. They are continuously monitored by the ‘Big Brother’, and throughout the time in the house, they all must vote who to evict. Whoever is the last competitor remaining wins the competition and the sought-after cash price.

Fans of the show know they are in for a treat when people start getting evicted from the household. Tempers rise and arguments flair, so you might want to get the popcorn.

Not only was the US version a massive success, but so was Big Brother UK - which first aired in March 2001. Originally broadcasted on Channel 4 and E4, the British reality show has moved over to Channel 5 and 5Star.
