DEUTSCHLAND 83: Martin Rauch, a 24 year old East German native, is thrust from the world he knows and sent over the wall to the West as an undercover spy for the Stasi. Everything is new to him, no one can be trusted and the safety of the world is in his hands.
DEUTSCHLAND 86: East Germany is broke, Perestroika is real, terrorism plagues Europe, the AIDS crisis intensifies and the struggle against apartheid rages on. Banished for his sins in 1983, Martin wallows in limbo until his Aunt Lenora conscripts him into her plan to drum up hard currency abroad. DEUTSCHLAND 89: When the 'anti-fascist' Berlin Wall falls, superspy Martin and his fellow agents are left reeling. Their government has collapsed, their organization is in chaos and their futures are, at best, uncertain. Our heroes need to reinvent themselves in the face of a new world order. German language with English subtitles.
