Daft Punk: Interstella 5555
A$43.99

"Interstella 5555: The 5tory Of The 5ecret 5tar 5ystem" is the Japanese anime film released in 2003, depicting an original story for the second album (released in 2001) by the French electronic music duo Daft Punk.
The animation was created by Leiji Matsumoto, a childhood hero of Daft Punk's, who is renowned for his innovative anime stories, and contains no dialogue, just the entirety of Daft Punk's album "Discovery".
The film tells the tale of a blue skinned, popular alien band who are abducted and taken to Earth. Whilst there they have their memories erased, and are brainwashed and made to look like humans so they can perform concerts for their evil manager, who abducted them in the first place. A hero is sent from their planet to rescue them, and with his help and sacrifice they set out to defeat their manager and return home.
The animation, story line and music are all beautiful and captivating in their own right. Even for those non-die hard Daft Punk fans, this film is absolutely brilliant, and definitely not one to be missed. (Cat Emerson)
