The Film No One In 1986 Understood

On its release Howard The Duck was a massive box office bomb,George Lucas disowned the film and refused to talk about it for years yet 35 years later it has gone on to become somewhat of a sensation with fans and reguarded as a cult classic. The 2008 Universal Bluray was of very good quality with a reasonable 5.1 DTS surround track...however this new 4K scan and presentation is nothing less than a revelation and shows the beauty that 4K UHD can reproduce. The picture here is incredible with brilliant colours popping of the screen with HDR giving the film a real depth, there is as expected a small amount of grain throughout as the film was shot on 35mm but Howard now looks remarkable. To add you are given a new DTS-X surround track that completely expands the previous 5.1 into a truely immersive experience, the opening scene where Howard travels to earth is incredible to hear with your entire surround stage being bombarded with an incredible sequence, compare this sequence on the Bluray with 5.1 and then listen to the same in the new DTS-X...Theres clearly no competiton. A great selection of extras from the making of to a fun extra where the director talks about the release and reaction to the film in 1986 This is an absolute must to add to your 4K collection
